Membership includes access to the ONLINE version of American Mineralogist and both the PRINT and ONLINE versions of Elements magazine. Members and students are entitled to a 25% discount on MSA publications including textbooks, monographs, calendars and books, as well on publications from non-MSA societies and publishers.

The price for membership is $50.00.

MSA Annual Fund

The MSA Annual Fund has been established for current year spending. This fund will support IT improvements, educational programs, awards, and the Lecture Series.

 
 
 
 

MSA Endowment Fund

The MSA Endowment Fund is comprised of gifts and their earnings from individuals other than Washington A. Roebling. It provides support for MSA’s publications and programs. The fund can also offset annual shortfalls in the General Operating Fund on an as-needed basis.

 
 
 
 

Student Travel Fund

The Student Travel Fund supports students traveling to conferences, symposiums and other research related events.

 
 
 
 

Edward H. Kraus Crystallographic Research Fund

The Edward H. Kraus Crystallographic Research Fund provides for an annual $5000 MSA Grant for Research in Crystallography, Mineral Physics or Chemistry, and Mineralogy, and the cost of administering the grant.

 
 
 
 

F. Donald Bloss Optical Crystallography Fund

The F. Donald Bloss Optical Crystallography Fund promotes optical and optical crystallographic studies and the use of applied crystal optics in the solution of problems through the support of research, lectures, short courses, or development of educational materials.

 
 
 
 

Mineralogy and Petrology Fund

The Mineralogy & Petrology Fund provides two $5,000 research grants each year for graduate students and one $2,000 research grant each year for undergraduate students.

 
 
 
 

Mineralogy and Petrology Fund (in memory of James B. Thompson Jr.)

The Mineralogy and Petrology Fund (in memory of James B. Thompson Jr.), provides research grants each year to support the work of undergraduate and graduate students in the field of Mineralogy and Petrology. This will put your contributions to work in the areas that were central to Jim's life (students, mineralogy, and petrology) and into an organization that was central to Jim's career (MSA President, MSA Roebling Medalist)

 
 
 
 

J. Alexander Speer Outreach Fund

The J. Alexander Speer Outreach Fund will provide support for the Society’s public service activities, the Lecture Program, the collectors and educational portions of the MSA website, and the Handbook of Mineralogy.

 
 
 
 

Peter R. Buseck Fund
